Take my strength,

that I force upon my face.
Made helpless by the fact,

Take my sense of humor,
take as much as you can.
Laughing at what life throws at you,
is really your best plan.

Lastly, take my love for you,
take extra, and put it in your heart on a shelf.

Yesterday and Forever

It seems like yesterday,
I heard your name the first time.
Every week as we shopped,
I was following two steps behind.

It seems like yesterday,
when we shared our first kiss.
I was nervous AND excited,
a point you really couldn’t miss.

It seemed like forever,
before I could express my love to you.
And what seemed like an eternity,
before we lived like normal people do.

When I leave, it feels like forever,
until I once again see your face.
So many hours in a day,
that all seem to go to waste,
but, in the end,
it’s our love for each other that I never could replace…
it goes on…Forever.

My first post

How appropriate that my first blog post be made on Valentines Day!

Anyone who knows me, (or at least read my book) knows that when it comes
to my emotions, that I do not hide them.

I make no apologies about how much I love my wife. I am not the kind of
guy who would take off my ring if I am away, go to a go-go bar, or
attend a Bachelor party. It’s not my thing and I invite other guys to be
the same way.

Having been married unsuccessfully before I know that one of my
downfalls was that I led my married life as a single guy. Sure, I did
the obligatory things on Valentines Day, Anniversaries and Christmas
but, mentally I was really just going through the motions. I wouldn’t
commit emotionally to the fact that I was turning over my heart and life
to my mate. So, my marriage failed.

People don’t like to commit 100%. We always feel that we need to hold
back something in case things don’t work out, we will still have the
energy to fight our way out of our situation. I am here to tell all men
that when you do give that 100%. When you look at another beautiful
woman and think in your head, “no, I’m good. I have all in need in life
with ______” You get back what you put in ten-fold. And if you
don’t…choose another person to be with. And if you can’t give the
person you are with 100%, and yet they give you their all…let them go.
Quit being a selfish SOB. I let my first wife go and now that she
re-married to someone who gives her 100%, I hope that she is happy.
Obviously, I wasn’t the right guy for the job, and at least I had the
guts to not be selfish and drain her of what she was offering me,
without retribution.

Joe, this book is well thought out and well written. Your insights are excellent. It really makes the reader think deep inside themselves and critique their own thoughts and actions. I have not yet had the pleasure of having children, but I can assure you when I do, I will remember this book!

Joe, I loved it! I couldn’t put it down except to get a tissue in some parts. It was one of the most heartfelt books I’ve ever read. You definitely gave this a lot of thought and for the purpose it was written makes it all that more wonderful! Please write another!

Bloody awesome!! The book refelcts the man that wrote it( I work with the guy so I know). It’s honest,sincere,and direct ( 100 pages!). Most important of all it shows the love he has for his childern. Even though it was written for his childern the simple truths apply to us all. So get wise and BUY THIS BOOK!
